2026 FCREC Candidate Forum Volunteers
Location: Palm Coast Community Center
Date & Time: Thursday, February 5, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Position: Candidate Forum Event Volunteer
The FlaglerGOP and FCREC are seeking dedicated and reliable volunteers to help support our 2026 Candidate Forum. This important community event gives local voters the opportunity to meet candidates, ask questions, and hear from those running for office. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the evening runs smoothly, professionally, and on schedule. If you enjoy teamwork, organization, and community engagement, we’d love to have you with us.
Volunteer Time Commitment
All volunteers are required to arrive by 5:00 PM for a brief orientation, role assignment, and setup. Please plan to remain available through the conclusion of the event at 8:00 PM. Your full-shift commitment helps ensure consistency and professionalism throughout the forum.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Set-Up Crew
Responsibilities:
Assist with arranging tables, chairs, signage, and materials
Prepare candidate tables and the meet-and-greet area
Help set up the stage, podium, and any A/V needs
Ensure the venue looks organized, clean, and welcoming
Check-In Desk
Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for attendees
Manage check-in lists, name tags, and programs
Greet guests warmly and direct them to seating or candidate tables
Answer general questions and provide event information
Timekeepers
Responsibilities:
Keep accurate time for candidate speeches and Q&A sessions
Provide clear visual time cues (1-minute warning, time’s up)
Coordinate closely with the moderator and event lead
Help maintain an orderly and consistent flow of the program
Candidate Liaisons
Responsibilities:
Welcome candidates and guide them to their assigned tables
Manage speaking order and ensure candidates are ready for their turn
Relay communication between candidates, the moderator, and staff
Assist with basic logistics to keep the event moving smoothly
Question Collectors
Responsibilities:
Move through the audience to gather written questions
Distribute or collect question cards as needed
Deliver questions to the sorting team or moderator
Maintain quiet and order during transitions
Floating Support
Responsibilities:
Provide flexible assistance wherever needed during the event
Refill materials, adjust seating, or help guide guests
Support teams experiencing high demand
Troubleshoot small issues and communicate with event leads
Qualifications
Friendly, dependable, and comfortable interacting with the public
Ability to stay organized and follow event structure
Works well with others and maintains a positive attitude
Willing to assist wherever needed to ensure a successful event
