Flagler County Republican Executive Committee Update – April 2026
The Patriot Post - May 2026 Issue
Moving Forward Together
The last 30 days have been full of momentum, activity, and progress across Flagler County and beyond. Governor Ron DeSantis visited our neighboring area to launch a major highway corridor reconstruction project that promises to relieve long-standing traffic pressure and improve access to the southern areas of our region. We also celebrated another outstanding First Friday event in Flagler Beach, watched several REC members and Republican candidates successfully qualify for the ballot through petition signatures, and held another informative and spirited monthly business meeting. As we officially enter midterm election season, the energy and dedication of our members continue to demonstrate that the FlaglerGOP is organized, engaged, and ready for the work ahead.
Governor DeSantis Launches Major I-95 / US-1 Improvement Project
April 30, 2026 – Destination Daytona, Florida

FlaglerGOP members turned out in force to support the Governor and show that Flagler County Republicans remain one of the most active and engaged Republican organizations in Northeast Florida. In fact, our REC had representation possibly larger than the host county itself; something that certainly does not go unnoticed. Flagler Republicans continue to show up, stay involved, and make our presence known wherever conservative leadership is advancing solutions for Florida families.

Another Outstanding First Friday in Flagler Beach
May 1, 2026 – Flagler Beach, Florida
While protest groups across the country spent the evening rallying around everything from foreign policy to bathroom politics, the FlaglerGOP was once again out in force at the monthly First Friday event in Flagler Beach. Held at Veterans Park, First Friday continues to be one of the staples of the FCREC calendar and an event many members look forward to each month.
The atmosphere was fantastic as members, residents, visitors, and local families gathered to enjoy live music, good conversation, and beautiful weather along the coast. One of the best parts of the evening is always the scenery. While we may not get to watch the sun dip directly into the ocean on the east coast, Flagler Beach sunsets still paint the sky with incredible colors that make every First Friday special.
More importantly, events like these remind us how valuable community engagement truly is. Politics is not just about campaigns and elections; it is about building relationships, meeting neighbors, and staying connected to the people we serve.
Flagler County Republican Club Hosts Supervisor of Elections
May 6, 2026 – Palm Coast, Florida
The Flagler County Republican Club held another informative monthly meeting featuring Flagler County Supervisor of Elections Kaiti Lenhart. We are fortunate in Flagler County to have such an accessible and knowledgeable Supervisor of Elections who consistently takes the time to educate voters and civic organizations about Florida election law and procedures.
Even for those who have heard her speak before, there is always something new to learn. This month’s discussion included insight into candidate qualifying procedures, ballot access requirements, and the realities of local elections, including the reminder that under the right circumstances, even “My crazy uncle from Palatka” could theoretically end up winning community office. If you know, you know.
The FCRC meets on the first Wednesday of every month at the Hilton Garden Inn Palm Coast Town Center. Social hour begins at 5:00 PM and the meeting starts at 6:00 PM. There is always a great speaker, valuable information, and an opportunity to connect with fellow conservatives from around the county.
REC Members Successfully Meet Petition Certification
May 11, 2026 – Flagler County, Florida
As the petition qualifying period officially closed at 12:01 PM on May 11, the FlaglerGOP was proud to announce that every REC member candidate seeking office successfully had their petition signatures certified.
Congratulations to:
Leann Pennington
Theresa Pontieri
Greg Feldman
Ron Long
These candidates understand the importance of meeting voters face-to-face and listening directly to the concerns of the community. Collecting petitions is not glamorous work. It means long hours, difficult conversations, hearing “no” repeatedly, and answering tough questions from voters. But it is one of the best ways for candidates to understand exactly what residents expect from the people elected to represent them.
The REC appreciates the hard work and dedication these candidates showed throughout the qualifying process. Gathering hundreds of verified signatures is no small accomplishment, and it demonstrates strong grassroots support throughout the county.
Informative May REC Meeting Highlights Technology and Engagement
May 13, 2026 – Palm Coast Community Center

The FlaglerGOP held another informative and engaged monthly business meeting at the Palm Coast Community Center. Members welcomed Flagler County School Board District 4 candidate and current School Board Chair Christy Chong for a “TMAY” (“Tell Me About Yourself”) session where she discussed budget victories, curriculum issues, and her vision for the future of Flagler County schools.
The meeting also featured a healthy and respectful discussion regarding a resolution introduced by a committee member. One of the strengths of the REC is the willingness of members to openly discuss ideas and work through issues in a productive and professional manner.
Members also gave positive feedback regarding the REC’s new digital check-in system. As technology continues to evolve, the FlaglerGOP is embracing new tools to improve communication and accessibility for members. Secretary Ron Long is currently developing new systems that will allow members easier access to attendance records, meeting agendas, minutes, and other important resources online.
Upcoming Events
Freedom Fairways Classic – June 22, 2026

We encourage everyone to visit FlaglerGOP.com and purchase tickets for the 2026 Flagler Freedom Fairways Classic at the beautiful Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and members are encouraged to promote these opportunities to local businesses, friends, and supporters. Hole Sponsorships are also available for only $100 and include a custom yard-sign-style display at one of the course holes. Members can sponsor a sign individually, honor a loved one in memorial, or even split the cost with friends for a fun group sponsorship.
Events like these are critical fundraising opportunities that allow the REC to support Republican candidates throughout the election cycle.
America 250… A Lincoln Day Dinner

Tickets are now available for the America 250… A Lincoln Day Dinner event. An early bird discount reducing tickets by $25 remains available until June 1st. Seating is limited to only 200 guests, and tickets are moving quickly at the reduced rate.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available through the Donate page at FlaglerGOP.
The FlaglerGOP Phone Bank
The FlaglerGOP phone bank has now been fully equipped and is ready to begin scheduling volunteer call sessions. Vice Chair Paula Bedner will be leading the effort and hosting volunteer training sessions at her home on Tuesday, May 19th and Thursday, May 28th.
We need volunteers to help build a strong Get Out The Vote operation heading into the midterm elections. Republicans too often become complacent during midterm cycles, but elections are won by the people who show up. The momentum created over the last several years can only continue if conservatives stay engaged and active at the local level. Email TheFCREC@gmail.com if you want to sign up or learn more.

Help, Help, Help!!!
All of these incredible events, improvements, and outreach efforts depend entirely on volunteers. The FlaglerGOP has no paid staff positions, there is no “someone else” to handle things behind the scenes. Everything is accomplished through the dedication of committee members, precinct captains, and volunteers willing to step up and help.
There are opportunities for every personality, skillset, and schedule. Whether you enjoy organizing events, making calls, helping with technology, social media, logistics, outreach, or simply greeting guests at meetings, there is a place for you to get involved.
Please reach out to a board member, connect through social media, or visit the Help Out Hub at FlaglerGOP.
Into the Future

The FlaglerGOP continues moving forward with new technology and member tools. A “Get to Know the Member Portal” Zoom session will be announced soon as additional website features complete beta testing.
The goal is to have all major systems fully operational by the June meeting. Members who already have portal access and would like to help test new features are encouraged to contact Secretary Ron Long through social media, the website, or by email at TheFCREC@gmail.com.
Closing Message
We have officially entered the 2026 midterm election season, and from now until November the primary mission of the FlaglerGOP is clear: GET OUT THE VOTE.
Talk to your friends and neighbors. Attend events. Volunteer. Help support our candidates. Stay involved. Midterm elections are often decided by turnout, and every volunteer effort matters. Republicans too often become complacent during midterm cycles, assuming victories will simply carry forward on their own. History has shown that when conservatives stay home, the consequences are real.
President Donald Trump has sacrificed tremendously to fight for America First policies and help get this country back on stable footing economically, politically, and internationally. Across the world, America is once again being respected as a strong and decisive leader. Here at home, families are seeing the return of policies focused on secure borders, economic growth, energy independence, and putting American citizens first.
But none of that progress is guaranteed to continue if Republicans lose control of Congress.
If the America First agenda is stalled by a shift in congressional power, then every gain made over the last year and a half becomes vulnerable. The direction of this country will be determined by the people who are willing to show up, volunteer, speak out, and vote. We have worked too hard turning the ship in the right direction. Let’s not allow the country to drift off course.
That is why the work being done today at the local level matters so much. Every phone call, every event, every petition signature, every conversation with a neighbor, and every volunteer hour helps build the momentum needed to protect conservative leadership in 2026 and beyond.
Now is the time to stay engaged. Now is the time to stand together. Now is the time to Get Out The Vote.
